Mera Peak Climbing

Mera Peak (6,654 m.) is the highest trekking peak situated to the south-east of Everest in Nepal. Mera peak climbing is the perfect combination of the wilderness trek and one of the most challenging climbing. In Mera Peak climbing you get an opportunity to trek along the awe inspiring beauty and wilderness zone of the Hinku valley in Nepal. The summit of the peak offers you the most spectacular view of the majestic eight thou Sander Mountains like Everest and Lhotse to the north, Kanchenjunga and Makalu to the east, and Cho Oyu to the west.

You start your trek for Mera Peak climbing from the Lukla as you take a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla airport. From Lukla you trek all the way through the picturesque zone of the Everest region. En route you pass through the narrow valley, beautiful villages, pristine forests, rivers and emerald hills. After nine day long trekking crossing the Zatrwa La you reach the Mera La where you set your Base Camp for Mera Peak climbing. From the base camp you head up to certain height where you set your High camp just to ensure the certainty of the successful climb. On the very next day you attempt the Mera Peak summit. Best season to climb the peak is during March to May and September to December.

Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02: Spend day for Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley for 5-6 hours and preparation for Peak climbing. Overnight at hotel.

Day 03: Take a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and overnight camp.

Day 04: Trek from Lukla to Chutok (2800m) walking for about 5-6 hrs.

Day 05: Trek from Chutok to Pangkongma (2950m) walking for about 5-6 hrs.

Day 06: Trek from Pangkongma to Kurke (3800m) walking for about 5-6 hrs.

Day 07: Trek from Kurke to Thuli Kharka (4160m) walking for about 2-3 hrs and acclimatization day.

Day 08: Trek from Thuli Kharka to Thasidingma (3650m) walking for about 6-7 hrs.

Day 09: Trek from Thasidingma to Thangnak (4320m) walking for about 6-7 hrs.

Day 10: Take a day rest at Thangnak.

Day 11: Trek from Thangnak to Khahare (4870m) walking for about 6 hrs.

Day 12: Trek from Khahare to Mera Base Camp (5350m) walking for about 6 hrs.

Day 13: Gradually climb up from Mera Base Camp to Mera High Camp (5800m.) walking for about 6 hrs.

Day 14: Today you Climb Mera Peak, Summit (6,654m) and return to Base camp.

Day 15: This is a Spare day.

Day 16: Trek down from Base camp to Chamlang Base camp (4750m.) walking for about 6 hrs.

Day 17: Trek from Chamlang Base camp to Hunku Nup Lake (4900m) walking for about 6 hrs.

Day 18: Trek from Hunku Nup Lake to Nare Glacier (5000m) walking for about 4-5 hrs crossing over Mingbo La-(5815m.).

Day 19: Trek back from Nare Glacier to Pangboche (3980m.) walking for about 6 hrs.

Day 20: Trek back from Pangboche to Namche bazaar (3440m) walking for about 6-7 hrs.

Day 21: Trek back from Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2800m) walking for about 7 hrs.

Day 22: Fly back from Lukla to Kathmandu. Rest of the time for shopping

Day 23: Transfer to International Airport for your onward destination.
